- Temple of Literature
It’s Vietnam’s first national university, also the place worshiping Confucius and putting Stelae of Doctors. The temple of Literature was built in 1076 by Ly Nhan Tong king. It’s not only a monument containing cultural and historical meaning, but also a construction project showing Vietnam’s ancient architecture, which deserves to preserve. Temple of Literature is one of the most various and plentiful monumental ensembles attracting the tourists when travelling to Hanoi.
2. One Pillar Pagoda
It’s regretful if you travel to Hanoi without visiting there. It used to be Buddhism, Taoism centre throughout many centuries. One Pillar Pagoda is located in city centre and it has excellent original lotus architecture in Vietnam.
- Tran Quoc Temple
As attractive as other destinations, Tran Quoc Temple with its over 1500 years old is the most prominent Thang Long Imperial City’s architecture in Le Dynasty, now it belongs to Ba Dinh district. The temple is the project containing historical and religious meaning. Chan Quoc temple was recognized as 10th historical project in Indochina. This is the most ancient temple in Vietnam and located near Tay lake, in Thanh nien street. Ba Dinh district.
- St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi
In 19th century, there are many Cathedrals built in Hanoi, in which St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi is the biggest project with French original structure. The view is so roomy and comfortable that it becomes an attractive destination for Hanoi youth and the tourists who visit Hanoi.
- Old Quarter, Hanoi
Old Quarter, Hanoi is a specific destination in Hanoi with houses, streets and corners bringing 19th century structure. Most tourists when travelling to Hanoi choose Old Quarter, Hanoi to visit because they will feel Hanoi’s spirit in there. And they also realize the beauty of Vietnamese people’s spirit.
- Hoan Kiem lake
People can’t forget Hoan Kiem lake when telling about Hanoi travelling. The special thing in Hanoi geography is the various lakes and the big rivers around city. Hoan Kiem lake is located exactly center city with ancient turtle tower which is on the small island in center lake. This is also a Hanoi people’s entertainment place beside the city noise. Near Hoan Kiem lake is the monumental architecture attracting the tourists when travelling to Hanoi. It’s also the city’s value heritage: Pen Tower, Nghien pedestal, The Huc Bridge leading to Dac Nguyet story or Tran Ba palace…on the way to Ngoc Son temple.
- Ba Dinh square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
When travelling to Hanoi, you can’t pass over Vietnam’s political center with National congress house, president residence, Ba Dinh square where Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. It’s the place keeping and preserving Uncle Ho’s corpse.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opens 5 days per week, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning. The people visiting must obey the regulation such as tidy clothes, not bring electric facilities and keep silent in Mausoleum. Why is it the necessary destination when travelling to Hanoi? Because it has not only attractive view but also the respectfulness to the leader of Vietnam.
- West lake
Located not far from city center, West Lake is the lake which has the biggest surface area in Hanoi. You can rent a water bicycle or go by boat around West Lake. The most suitable time is the sunset. Beside West Lake is ancient Nghi Tam village, which is the place keeping Hanoi people’s elegant plays. That is ornamental plants. Nghi Tam is also called by flower village. Whenever spring comes, this village overwhelm into colorful flowers. Near West Lake is also Ngu Xa village with bronze casting tradition, Yen Phu village with incense making. These are all the destination you should visit when travelling to Hanoi.
